This position is responsible for planning the installation of gas supply projects for customers (builders, developers, FortisBC departments). Using established service, product definitions and pricing to produce the customer contract. This role processes routine project requests professionally and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

In this role, you’ll put your analytic and organizational skills to work by designing and coordinating distribution-related projects that include customer-driven work and system-driven upgrades. You’ll utilize your technical expertise to support our growth and reliability in our projects.
• Learn about the regulated gas business model and how it works. This includes understanding the planning and operations department dynamics and fostering relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Track, manage, and process requests within various business systems, including GIS mapping, SharePoint, customer information, financial and material management, and estimating tools.
• Work with installation crews to observe fieldwork, including repairs and upgrades, and visit worksites to meet with customers seeking new, upgrading or altering services.
• Plan and design complex projects such as large main extensions, system improvements and offer support in response to various operational needs, including hazard mitigation, metering protection and upgrades, and valve work.
• Coordinate projects and provide the details of the scope of work, service products and pricing models.
• Act as a contact for builders, developers and key internal and external customers.
• A post secondary Engineering Technology Diploma in an appropriate discipline (civil, mechanical, petroleum, piping etc.)
• A certified or deemed eligible for certification at the technologist level by the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC).
• Four years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• An ability to collaborate and work well with various departments and external clients.
