- The carpenter is responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings.
- Required knowledge includes: construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control and safety.
- The carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks: hanging doors, drilling and setting door hardware, setting windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, formwork, and reading blueprints.
- The carpenter must also possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do materials estimates.
